The Recipe of Successful Life from H.E Marty Natalegawa, former Foreign Affairs Minister of the The Republic of Indonesia

August 28th 2014 was the first time I met his Excellency Marty M. Natalegawa. Today, we are blessed to be lectured by him.

He taught us a lots of precious knowledge, but one that I want to share to you guys, my fellow lovely family is the recipe of successful life from him.

I asked him that sometimes being  successful person is like an iceberg. People only see small part of the moment of our achievements, but they forgot to understand our hardships behind those successful stories.

the former foreign affairs minister said  :

" One size does not fit all, and all your experiences shaped who you are today".

Remember :
1. Be Your Self. It's all about your thoughts, views. And...what people see is what they get.
2. Be truthful to your surrounding and to your self.
3. Be comfortable with your self.
4. Recognize who you are, your limitation and your potential.
5. What is your target? Make a road map of it.
6. Perfection is the enemy of the good. Let things flow.
7. Make the very best opportunity to show your ability.

After he finished the diplomat training, he was assigned to the research and development department. It was not the coolest department that time, but that department made him able to work directly under the great seniors and made him learn a lot of things that developed him as a person. He was able to interact daily with his leader. His Excellency also told us about his experience of how H.E Ali Alatas asked his advice about East Timor.

"He listens..."
"He does not have monopoly of information, he even noted what I told him, that makes me nervous even more. " said H.E Marty about H. E Ali Alatas.

That time I told my self that I have to be a good listener, said H.E Marty.

"Perform your best in every situation, be o
bservant. The negative one taught us how not to do things"

These are the advice from our former foreign minister. I hope you guys can also feel the enlightenment that I felt today.

The best advice of all for diplomats is :

"We are peace maker above all"

Thank you, Sir, for your great advice. We will follow your good examples.
